Let’s be honest for a moment here. Since the semi-final of Melodifestivalen this weekend I can’t get the song “Tick Tock” out of my head. It just reels there time after time, and I sing it outloud. Even walking home from the pub tonight I was belting it from my headphones. The people of Caen, France thank you, Nina Söderquist and songwriters Johan Lyander, Matti Alfonzetti (both pictured above). Great song, great lyrics, and just all-around greatness.

And now the ode to the song and performers. So often are the background singers forgotten or not seen at all, but thanks to SVT we see them several times. They are two men, which seems strange to me having being with a girl, but regardless I’m rockin’ it down with them; go team! Plus the one on the left…

What about the song, you say? Well the song is a fun operatic-pop number that not only makes my skin jump but gets my toes tapping. I’ve been dancing the Tick Tock for like hours and days it seems. I can’t get it out of my head; hence the ode.

As embarrassing as it might be to find these screenshots on the internet, I must say that the best part of this peformance (other than the amazing vocals) is the fact that Nina appaers to be having fun, which is something so important, in my opinion! She dances around and just grooves down with the beat, all while she manages to keep her boobs in her top: good job! B)

How else could this possibly end, without an amazing punch into the air? It makes me so happy to see such a thing, and of course all the while the crowd is chearing on and on. I really don’t know what else to say other than I love this song, and I hope to hear it again and again on the radio! Great job team!
